About Pier 60 Clearwater
The social and visual center of Clearwater Beach, Pier 60 is a 1,080-foot concrete pier best known for two things: legendary night fishing for snook under its bright dock lights, and the nightly Sunset Festival, a free beachfront gathering of musicians, artists, and vendors that runs from two hours before sunset to two hours after, every day of the year.
The pier was closed for nearly a year after the 2024 hurricane season (Helene and Milton) and only partially reopened to fishing in September 2025 — some sections and amenities are still being rebuilt, so it's worth confirming current access before a visit.
When open, a full day of fishing runs roughly $8–12 per person (discounts for kids and seniors, plus weekly, monthly and annual passes), with no state licence required — the pier's blanket licence covers everyone. Just walking to the end costs about $1. The on-site bait house rents rods and sells live and frozen bait. Regulars catch snook, mackerel, pompano, flounder, sheepshead, redfish, and catch-and-release shark.
