About Jacksonville Beach Pier
Originally built in 1925 and reconstructed at a cost of $11.6 million, the current Jacksonville Beach Pier reopened in 2022 after a four-year rebuild and now stretches roughly 1,285–1,300 feet into the Atlantic — one of the longer piers on Florida's east coast.
It's fully handicap-accessible, with fish-cleaning stations, a concession area, restrooms, and an on-site bait and tackle shop. Admission includes the required state fishing licence, so there's no separate permit to buy: expect a small day-pass fee for walking (roughly $1–2.50) and a slightly higher fee for fishing (roughly $4–5.50), with locals paying less than out-of-town visitors.
Anglers regularly catch redfish, speckled trout, bluefish, and whiting. The pier is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
