About Dania Beach Pier
A roughly 900-foot wooden pier just south of Fort Lauderdale, Dania Beach Pier pairs solid inshore and nearshore fishing with the on-pier Quarterdeck restaurant, making it as popular for a sunset dinner as for a fishing trip.
The pier's Florida-issued fishing licence covers everyone casting a line, so out-of-state visitors don't need to buy their own. Expect a small walk-on fee (around $1.50β2) and a separate, slightly higher fishing fee (around $3β4).
Common catches include snook, mutton and mangrove snapper, Spanish mackerel, bluefish, and dolphinfish (mahi), with barracuda and the occasional shark sighted from the rails. The pier is open daily, roughly 5 a.m. to midnight, with fish-cleaning tables and a small shaded structure near the end.
Researched and verified August 2026. Hours, fees and access change β and Florida piers are regularly closed by storm damage β so confirm with the operator before travelling. Spotted something out of date? Tell us.
